The
Official History of The Local Name Winsloe:
Winsloe
was taken over by PEI, in 1925. Confirmed as Settlement on 12
December 1939.Winsloe (site) became a part of Charlottetown on April
1, 1995.
Winsloe
is
part of Charlottetown which is

Winsloe
got his name from John Hodges Winsloe in 1800s. He owned the largest
area of the land in mid of the 19th century. The farming settlement
developed as community on the township of Queens Royalty at the
northern boundaries but the construction was held to the Malpeque Bay
between the colonial capital of Charlottetown towards the south and
shire town of Prince County to the northwest. Thus Winsloe began a
Service Center on the route to stagecoach.
In
1872 the Prince Edward Island railway was inaugurated to connect
Winsloe placed towards the mainline between Charlottetown and
Summerside and afterwards towards the Port Borden.
Later
on, in the 20th century the construction of the route 2 made Winsloe
as a suburb part of Charlottetown.
Many
developments were created in the community in 1970s - 1990s. On April
1st, 1995 its status was upgraded to villages and several
subdivisions. The Winsloe village development happened very quickly
the major improvement was seeing in Winsloe soccer club and
neighborhood development.

To take a tour of some Winsloe points of interest, starting at Quartermaster Marine located at 544 Malpeque Rd, Charlottetown, PE C1E 1V1 head south on PE-2, then east on Campbell Rd then north on Winsloe Rd and you'll arrive at Winsloe United Church located at 121 Winsloe Rd, Winsloe South, PE C1E 2Y2.
If you leave Winsloe United Church and head south on Winsloe Rd then east on Royalty Junction Rd you'll reach Charlottetown SDA Church located at 70 Royalty Junction Rd, Charlottetown, PE.
Leaving Charlottetown SDA Church if you head west on Royalty Junction Rd then north on PE-2, then west on Campbell Rd you'll reach Tim Hortons located at 537 Malpeque Rd, Winsloe, PE C1E 1Z2.
From Tim Hortons head south on PE-2 then west on Melody Ln then south on Lower Malpeque Rd and you'll reach the Winsloe Soccer Complex located at 387 Lower Malpeque Rd, Charlottetown, PE C1E 2M3.
Departing the Winsloe Soccer Complex head south towards the PE-2 which turns into University Ave then turn left onto Grafton St and you'll arrive at Charlottetown Home Inspections located at 267 Grafton St, Charlottetown, PE C1A 1L6.
